Mercy Nnenda Chinwo is a popular Nigerian gospel artist signed to EeZee Concept; a music recording company owned by Nigerian gospel singer, producer and entrepreneur, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu Thankgod professionally known as Eezee Tee.
Mercy was born on 5th September 1990 in Port Hacourt, Rivers State, and she started singing at a very young age. At age 8, she joined the children choir in her local church before she went further to pursue a career in music.
It is no longer news that Mercy Chinwo won the 2012 Nigerian Idol talent show before transitioning into a gospel musician. One amazing thing people may not know about Mercy is that she was into acting also. The ' Excess Love ' crooner once pursued a career in acting before she became a gospel singer.
Mercy made her movie debut back in 2013 when she starred in Ghanaian Nigerian comedy movie titled ' House of Gold ' which was produced by Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson, and was directed by Pascal Amanfo. Mercy was starred in the movie alongside Yvonne Nelson, Francis Odega, Majid Michael, Eddie Watson, Ice Prince, Omawumi among others.
House of Gold movie tells the story of a businessman man, Dan Ansah Williams, who on a his dying bed was told that he has just two weeks to live. The business mogul decided to reunite all his children in his house. With the help of his aide, all his biological children and even those he had out of wedlock were invited and were made to convene at his house in Ghana. The gathering of the large extended family members at Chief Williams' house created dispute among the children but they were left with no choice but to tolerate each other's differences for the short period of time they stayed together.
In the movie, Mercy Chinwo played the character ' Lucia ' who was Chief Williams' house help. It was the first movie role she was given after she won the 2012 Nigerian Idol talent show.
