At a building in the Durban CBD where a fire broke out on Friday, emergency crews are still on standby. According to reports from the scene, the structure is still on fire.
Overnight, police, medics, and firefighters remained on the site.
There have been no further injuries, according to Kyle van Reenen of Emer-G-Med. However, paramedics from Emer-G-Med remain on standby to assist on scene if needed.
He went on to say that traffic in the vicinity is still being diverted, and that people in the neighborhood should keep all windows and doors locked.
Paramedics verified that thirteen people were rescued from a burning building in Durban's city center on Friday the 21st of January 2022.
They were treated for injuries ranging from minor to moderate, according to Kyle van Reenen of Emer-G-Med paramedics.
