The Minister for Health, Mr Kwaku Agyeman-Manu last Sunday inspected the Princess Marie Louise Hospital, also known as the Children’s Hospital in Accra.
According to Mr Agyemang-Manu, his first official visit was steered by the numerous complaints received in his office by some residents around the neighborhood and patients of the hospital about the hospital’s devastating condition and staffing challenges.
In his social media post monitored by journalist Mr Agyemang-Manu added that, the delegation wanted to have first-hand information about the unfortunate challenges, witness the situation and develop a solution to the problems.
The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye said Ghana Health Service(GHS) technicians has already submitted report on preliminary structural integrity assessment of the building they carried out.
The Medical Director of the facility, Dr. Mame Yaa A. Nyarko, who welcomed and led the team from the Ministry, also told the Minister that two years ago the facility was faced by this staffing challenge but was revived by the Ministry and the offfice of the Director-General.
