The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has issued an order which disallow business owners from operating by 7 pm to 6 am.
He issued the directives when he visited the state police command to commiserate with them on the death of 4 police officers who lost their lives in the course of protecting the state.
During his speech, He recalled that eleven police officers have been lost their lives within the space of two weeks and he praised officers of the Nigerian police for risking their lives just for the safety of Nigerian citizens.
He reaffirmed that the Government of Rivers State will continue to identify with the families of the diseased officers.
The Governor also encouraged the men of the police force not to be discouraged rather they should arise and fight the enemies of the country.
Wike added that "no amount of intimidation will force Rivers State to be part of any group fighting against the unity of Nigeria".
The Governor finally placed a curfew in the state that will commence daily Immediately it is 7 pm till Dawn.
He urged police officers to take the curfew very serious and they should not allow any movement once it is 7 pm.
Wike warned that "anyone caught doing business from 7 pm to 6 am will be shutdown".
The state government promised to give a whopping sum of 20 million naira each to the families of the deceased police officers.
