Many people prefer the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) to the National Certificate Examination (NECO) because they think that NECO results can not be accepted abroad.
In the year 2002, a bill was enacted in the national assembly that NECO should be Internationally accepted.
The fact is that NECO can be used Internationally but not all countries accept it.
Countries that accept NECO results often mandate other requirements for candidates who want to study in their schools. For instance, they require such applicants to have the English language in an international exam.
The countries that accept NECO result also require a candidate to possess the following:
1. NECO result.
2. International Passport.
3. Birth Certificate.
4. Affidavit of support.
5. NECO scratch card. The scratch card is used to collect NECO result.
