In as much as this year’s West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination(WASSCE) didn’t go as it is every year due to the deadly Coronavirus pandemic which hit us, it appears that it did more good than harm on the side of the finally year students as majority of them came out successfully in their exam.
A number of this students who are tagged as the ‘Akuffo-Addo’s Graduates’ following the free SHS policy which started with them have made their parents and Nana Addo proud by scoring all A’s.
A student of the Adeiso Presbyterian Senior High School located at Adeiso in the Eastern Region has scored straight A’s in the 2020 WASSCE. Thomas made himself and her family proud by passing the exams with flying colours.
The teenage boy scored straight As in Social Studies, English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science. The general art student also made light work of his elective subjects, scoring A’s in Economics, Geography, Government and Elective Mathematics.
However, the saddest part is, the brilliant boy is from a poor home and straggle to go to school during school days as he most time have to walk 6 kilometers to school.
Mother of the said boy who couldn’t hold her tears begged Ghanaians to help her son further his education to the University.
According to Thomas, it is his biggest wish to study Economics in the University Of Ghana - Legon.
