One of the popular television stations in Ghana, TV3 has shared a new road traffic offences that has got many people talking. According to TV3 riding, driving or walking while on phone is now considered as a road traffic violation.
In a post shared on Midday live on TV3 on 7th July 2022, they wrote;
"New Road Traffic regulations cites riding, driving or walking while on phone as a road traffic violation."
It seems this new traffic regulations will cause a lot of problem for people since they are victims. Many people are found to be chatting on their phones whiles walking and others making calls while driving.
Many Ghanaians have reacted negatively to this new regulation.
A user wrote; "I am a victim, come and arrest me, am tired of the system".
Others also said that it is a means for Police Officers to extort more money from civilians.
"Good move, the way I hate that thing self, you will see someone infront of even at critical areas and still be making calls." A user wrote.
Others also asserted that it is a step in the right direction as walking on the road while using phone can lead to accidents.
