According to reports, the Chairman Council of Legal Education, Chief Nnaemeka Nigerian (SAN), represented the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami SAN, in performing the foundation laying ceremony of the Port Harcourt Campus of the Nigerian Law School today being Saturday 17th July 2021, in Port Harcourt Rivers State.
This is the following the approval of the Rivers State Government's request, for the establishment of a Campus of the Nigerian Law School in Port Harcourt. The foundation laying ceremony took place at the proposed site and it would have 1500 capacity classrooms blocks and hostel apartments for about1638 students. A multi purpose hall and a library, staff quarters and other recreational facilities.
The Chairman Council of Legal Education, Chief Nnaemeka, commended Gov Wike's Administration for having such a great idea of having a campus of the Nigerian Law School in Port Harcourt, he further encouraged him to keep up with the good work he is already doing, as it will be part of his legacies when he leaves office in 2023.
Gov Nyesom Wike in his response speech, thanked the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, for approving his request despite the fact that he is a member of the opposition political party in the Country. He also thanked Chief Nnaemeka for honouring their invitation to perform the foundation laying ceremony of the Port Harcourt Law School Campus.
Gov Wike further extended his appreciation to Prof. Isa Hayatu Chiroma, the Director General of the Nigerian Law School, the President Nigerian Bar Association, Olumide Akpata Esq, and other Senior Advocates who have been very supportive towards establishing the Law School Campus in Port Harcourt. He also thanked the Chairman Council for Education and Council members for accepting their request to name the Campus after an Illustrious Rivers son, Dr. Nabo Graham Douglas (SAN).
