NaSIA Officers raise red flag over activities of GES staff, checkout details

The National Schools Inspectorate Authoritiy (NaSIA) is currently on inspection and supervision exercise in Northern, Eastern and Ashanti Regions. Schools that have been visited have been witnessing intensive supervision from the NaSIA teams from Monday, 7th June, 2021, till today, Thursday 10th June, 2021.

According to close sources, the officers from NaSIA identified a number of things in some of the schools visited.

The most damning observation by the members of the Authority was that, most teachers report to school very late. Teachers of schools visited recount that the NaSIA teams reported as early as 6:00 am.

They also observed that, teachers absent themselves from school without permission. This was evident when Heads of Schools failed to produce permission letters of the teachers absent, when requested.

There were lapses in the lesson delivery of the teachers who taught for observation as teachers did not follow their lesson plans.

They (NaSIA officers) said some former Headteachers did not hand over properly when they were going on retirements or transfer.

Again, most items belonging to the schools are not properly documented in the inventory books. Therefore, mismanagements and misappropriations may occur.
