Super Eagles of Nigeria will once again keep a date with the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde Island for the final group C fixtures of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. The first leg of this fixture ended 2-1 in favor of Nigeria when the tie was decided September.

Gernot Rohr and his coaching staff have all the opportunity to make the necessary adjustments regarding the team performance and formation especially from their recent outing against Liberia last Saturday.

Going by the team's performance in the last game, it is obvious that some of the players do not deserve a place in the starting lineup that will confront Cape Verde on Tuesday.

In this article, we would looking at some of these players and why Gernot Rohr should put them on the reserve bench for other players to start.

1. Alex Iwobi

Alex Iwobi's impact in his recent outings for the national team is yet to be felt. Iwobi ought to be the invincible man of the team, stealing into space to receive pass and stealing into the box to cause damage. But so far has not done any of these role and he appears to be confused. Gernot Rohr should consider resting Iwobi in our next game.

2. Kelechi Iheanacho

The former Manchester City youngster is not playing up to the expectations of Nigerians. Iheanacho usually drop in form when the expections are high. He has failed to find the back of the net in his two previous games for the Super Eagles.

3. Joe Aribo

Aribo has not proven why he should be on the starting lineup on Tuesday for Nigeria if we are to judge his previous outings for the team. The youngster was a shadow of himself against Liberia yesterday and has clearly contributed little in the midfield.
