On Sunday, June 26, the Cabinet Secretary had hit out at the presidential aspirant, accusing him of misinforming the youth of Kenya. Matiang'i noted on the professor's failure to provide factual information on controls that have been put in place in country's where Marijuana has been legalized.

Part of the statement from Matiang'i read, "Regrettably, we have observed leaders mobilising the youth through misinformation and false promises such as legalizing Cannabis for commercial and recreational purposes if elected to office."

On Thursday, June 30, Wajackoyah wrote a tweet directed at the CS. In his tweet, George claimed that youths could make their own choices. He asked the former Education Cabinet Secretary what Kenyans should do when the government had failed to offer solutions. He finished with the statement, "WE ARE SORRY" written in uppercase.

He noted "To Fred Matiangi, Youths can make their own choices. What should KENYANS do if you and the government has failed to offer solutions to our problems including UNGA. WE ARE SORRY."
