We may have not known from the get go as to what the background story for the video which made rounds on Sunday morning was, but it is absolutely no secret that the effects of the video were most definitely felt by plenty, especially those who spend most of their time on their phones.
We want to believe that we have sort of moved away from issues such as racism, colourism and the likes so bad that nothing could have prepared us for the video in question.
Quick back story for those, who are not well up to date, a Stellenbosch first year law student, Theuns Du Toit was filmed entering Babalo Ndwanyana's residence and soon after he started peeing on his personal belongings, from his desk to his books and laptop, at this point Babalo was in bed sleeping which is what made the entire ordeal even more sad, because how do you willingly walk into another person's room and decide that it's okay to just casually pee on their personal belongings???
see link to video below:
Although the University of Stellenbosch has not released a formal statement in relation to the matter, the university has suspended and removed the perpetrator from the university residence.
The victim has spoken up and stated that he wants the perpetrator to be expelled from the university immediately.
Babalo has further opened a case of housebreaking, malicious damage to property, and crimen injuria against Du Toit and criminal investigations are underway.
We hope that an example will be made of the said student as there is absolutely no excuse for his action.
