Kenneth Imansuangbon, the only Edo state People’s Democratic party PDP front line Governorship aspirant, vying for the ticket of the party with Governor Godwin Obaseki in today’s PDP primary has announced his withdrawal from the race.
Recalls, APC had conducted it's primary election few days ago. Based on the result, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu won the exercise. He will then represent the APC in the main election to slug it out with whoever emerges the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
Though, Imasuagbon has stepped down from the contest where 2,229 delegates will choose the PDP gubernatorial flagbearer, voting will still go on for affirmation of Obaseki’s candidacy.
Remember the embattled edo state governor resigned from the APC after it’s screening committee disqualified him from in primary election.
The National Working Committee NWC also affirmed his disqualification by the screening and appeal committees.
Obaseki on 19 june Friday declared himself a PDP member officially in benin city, amidst cheers and chants of (4+4) by members of PDP.
If Obaseki if successfully a PDP candidate, he will move on to September and face Ize-Iyamu of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) square before reaching to the actual destination.
