Two more bodies were found on Wednesday after a boat had capsized in lake Victoria near pier beach in Homabay country.This now brings the number of deaths to four after two bodies had been retrieved on Tuesday.
The search for the other seven bodies is still ongoing.The seven are Among the 19 passengers who were on board from Homabay to pier beach heading to Ndhuru beach in Northern Suba before the boat capsized just 400 metres from landing site.
The bodies of a woman and an infant were on Tuesday retrieved while 8 passengers were rescued and hospitalized at the County Referral facility where they are still undergoing treatment.
The county commissioner of Homabay Moses Lilan Said that they've set up a temporary center consisting of a multi-agency team from the Kenya Maritime Authority, Kenya Coast Guard Services, Beach Management Units as well as the County Government Department of Disaster.
He further concluded by saying that the boat was overloaded by luggage and passengers that why it capsized.
