Growing nails that are long and strong is a multi-step process. As long as you take good care of your nails, you can grow them to any length that you desire. You need to stop bad nail habits and then take appropriate vitamins to enhance the growth of strong nails.
1.Stop biting your nails as it is dangerous to your health. It can cause bacterial skin infections on your hands and mouth. If your nail beds are either dry or loose, make sure you clip them rather than biting them.
2.Stop picking your chipped polish as it often removes the top layer of your nail bed and thus forms a weak base for your nails.
3.Stop using your nails as tools. Peeling labels, scrapping glue and unfastening key rings are some of the actions that can easily damage our nails. You might not realize that you are doing it but after sometime you will realize it. Also avoid keeping your nails in water for too long as it can soften them making them weak and flexible.
1.Get plenty of vitamin H(biotin). The vitamin promotes the growth and strength of nails, hair and the skin. Mushroom, bananas, whole grains and avocado are some of the great sources of biotin.
2.Eat foods rich in folic acid also called vitamin B9. It helps prevent damage to your nerve cells and keeps red blood cells healthy. It is the best vitamin responsible for nail growth.
3.Consume vitamin A. This vitamin is helpful in strengthening your nails. Its sources include sweet potatoes, carrots, squash and leafy greens.
