Karungo wa Thang'wa, the former Kiambu county CEC and the UDA senate Nominee for Kiambu Senate is now facing a political nightmare, after the High Court issued an order barring the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) from clearing him to run for the seat in the forthcoming august 9 elections.

In the ruling, the court stated that the nominee can only be cleared after a petition challenging his eligibility is heard and determined.

A petitioner by the name Kevin Njui Wangari petitioned Thang'wa and the respondents in the case were: IEBC, EACC and Thang'wa.

"Pending further orders of the expanded bench, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission is hereby prohibited from clearing the 1st respondent herein, Paul Karungo Thang'wa to vie as a candidate for any elective Office at the 9th August general elections and/or printing ballot papers bearing his name and/or symbol," just mrima's ruling reads in part.

Thang'wa was Impeached while serving as CEC in the county of Kiambu and it is why there is a petition against his Candidature.
