Remember The Teenager Who Almost Went BLIND Trying To Dye Her Eyebrows

It's no secret that most teenage girls enjoy trying out new beauty products. The huge beauty industry is a market that is continuously changing and stocked with new must-try skin and hair products. The reality is, it's all quite appealing to young ladies who are trying to figure out exactly what they want!

Tylah Durie, an Australian adolescent, was no exception. She constantly experimented with various beauty treatments while living in Victoria, including a number of alternatives for dyeing her brows. For her, the sky was the limit at 16 years old.

After applying the product, 1000 Hour's Eyelash and Brow Dye, she experienced unpleasant symptoms. It started with burning and itching on her eyebrows, and it only got worse.

Tylah recounted what it was like to wake up experiencing the horrifying reaction:

"I woke up almost blind because of the reaction, my eyes had blown up like huge balloons, I was crying and screaming."

Tylah went on to describe the anguish in further detail:

"It was like having beach sand thrown in your eyeballs and not being able to get it out, then a stinging like razor blades on my eyebrows."

Anyone reading that description may comprehend the horrific pain Tylah must have been in, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!

So, what exactly was going on here?

Tylah was allergic to paraphenylenediamine (PPD), a component in the product, and she had no idea she was allergic. Furthermore, the component was not present in any of the previous eyebrow dye kits she had used.

A patch test is a strong recommendation in the beauty products community. It is often recommended with face makeup and hair dye. A reaction on a small area like the top of your hand is nothing compared to a dangerous reaction all over your face or scalp. Tylah was allergic to a single ingredient.

Tylah has since recovered and is back to her normal self. She says she will be doing a patch test from now on.

Please spread the love and smiles. Share with family and friends and leave me a "hi in the comments, I would love a chat.
