The traditional ruler of the Gaya Emirate Council of Kano State, Ibrahim Abdulkadir, has passed on.
The death of the Emir was confirmed by a Government House source who stated that arrangements were being put in place by a government delegation to attend the funeral of the late Emir at the Emirate in Gaya later today.
It was learnt that the sad incident happened in the morning of Wednesday, September 22,2021, at the palace of the Emir, after a long battle with the ailment which had kept the deceased away from the public.
Recall that the late traditional ruler was appointed the Emir of Gaya Emirate by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, after the creation of four additional Emirates in the state last year.
The late Emir of Gaya Emirate has now become the second of the four newly appointed Emirs to pass away, after the death of the Emir of Rano who died last year during COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in the country.
May the soul of the Emir rest in peace.
