"We Need To Know The Status Of Our Monies" - Kwadwo Sheldon Speaks On Behalf Of EC Field Operatives

2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections were held on Monday, 7th December 2020 but due to some problems beyond control, some of the temporal electoral officers had worked for three to four days extra because of the non-coalition or wrong coalition.

The Ghanaian content creator, Kwadwo Sheldon has used his official Facebook to state that he has received a lot of personal messages from some of the temporal electoral officers lamenting that their allowances have still not been paid.

According to some of the messages sent to Kwadwo Sheldon, the Electoral Commission promised to pay them by December last year but the payment never happened. The Electoral Commission through its official Facebook page on 6th April 2021 released a Press Statement telling the Field officers that they would be paid by 30th April 2021.

Today is 14th April 2021, but according to these Field Officers the money has still not been paid. In view of that, they have sent many messages to Kwadwo Sheldon 'crying' to him to speak on their issue and 'pressure' the Electoral Commission Chair, Mrs. Jean Mensah to pay them their money.

These are difficult days and the workers need their money to take care of their needs. Mrs. Jean Mensah and her team need to speed up their work and talk to the Finance Ministry to release the money for field officers.

This is what Kwadwo Sheldon wrote on his official Facebook page:

"Dear Electoral Commission Ghana, boys are really bleeding.

People are sending messages at 3 am and 4 am.

We need to know the status of our monies".

This comment from the blogger seems to suggest that he was part of the field officers and since he campaigned for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), he might know some of the NPP officials and hopefully, the field officers will get their money on time.
