2 things to learn from Bishop Oyedepo as he said he will be the last to leave if war breaks out

War is not what everyone with clear eyes will dream to witnessed as history has shown that war goes with lot of lost of destruction of lives and properties. War brings setback the society.

Nigeria has witnessed civil war some years ago. According to Wikipedia, the Nigerian Civil War was a civil war fought between the government of Nigeria and the Republic of Biafra, a secessionist state which had declared its independence from Nigeria in 1967. The Nigerian Civil war was fought between 6 July 1967 to 15 January 1970. Reports showed that thousands of people lost their lives and properties worth billions of naira were destroyed during the Nigerian war.

While speaking on the peace of the nation, the founder and General Overseer of Living Faith Church worldwide popularly known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo revealed that he will not leave the country if war breaks out in Nigeria.

Daily Post News quoted Bishop David Oyedepo as saying that he will be the last person to leave Nigeria if war breaks out. He added that his heart belong to Nigeria and he cannot leave the country no matter what happened.

According to reports, Bishop Oyedepo made this known when he preached at Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, during a church programme, “Prayers for the Nation”, organized by the church to mark Nigeria’s 61st Independence Day.

The President of the Living Faith Church worldwide said there will be no war in Nigeria but "If war breaks out in Nigeria, I will be the last person to escape."

Bishop Oyedepo through his comments, showed his love for Nigeria.

There are things to learn from his comment.

First, he is optimistic that war will not break in the country. According to him, "there will be no war."

Like Bishop Oyedepo, there is need for every citizen of the country to work towards peace of the nation and also be positive that there will be no war in Nigeria no matter the challenges we face in the country.

The second thing to learn is that he has proven to be rooted in Nigeria by saying if war breaks out in the country, he will be the last to leave the country.

The respected man of God is known for always using his pulpit to speak on national issues.

Like Bishop Oyedepo, we should learn to stay in the country and work towards the peace and unity of the country than moving to other countries anytime there is a challenge in Nigeria.
