About 3 months ago, a Matatu driver caught the attention of many Kenyans after he was fired by the sacco he was working with. John Muthoni was fired by 2NK sacco for reporting students who were abusing drugs at Sagana police station.

This action angered Kenyans, where some wanted a legal action to be taken against the Matatu sacco. Others threatened to boycott all services offered by 2NK.

Later on, Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga came out and promised to employ Mr John at the county. However, some delays occured in his employment and some people thought the governor was not willing to keep his promise.

The governor came out to clarify that Muthoni was being taken through a process of acquiring the necessary documentation and he would get a permanent job once the whole process was over.

John has today come out to disclose that he has finally started a new job at Nyeri county. He has gone ahead to thank Governor Mutahi Kahiga for honoring the promise. On his part, the Nyeri Governor had appreciated Muthoni for his patience.

John Muthoni also stands a chance of getting Ksh 1.9 million as compensation from the sacco if he wins the case which is still pending in court. Muthoni filed a case accusing 2NK sacco of illegally firing him.
