The Inspector General of the National Police Service IG Hillary Mutyambai has disclosed that the police officers are ready to protect Kenyans during the Easter holiday season.
While addressing the nation on Thursday morning, Mutyambai noted that as far as Kenyans are co-operative, police officers will be very lenient.
"I have instructed the officers to employ soft approach while dealing with Kenyans. We must remember we are in a crisis and hence all of us need protection from contracting the novel Corona virus infections,"IG Hillary Mutyambai noted
In terms of those who are within the zoned area which is closed through a sessation of movement, the Inspector General has noted that security will be beefed up in order to ensure they do not go outside the zone.
He has noted that Kenyans should exercise caution as they travel for Easter holiday this weekend saying that police officers will be out to protect them throughout the season.
This comes just a day before the Easter holiday weekend behind tomorrow and ends on Monday when Kenyans are expected to observe high level of caution against the novel Corona virus pandemic.
The IG has since disclosed that the prisons department has already given out some of their officers who will help the National Police Service in ensuring Kenyans are safe.
