Sani Yerima declares interest in 2023 presidency

Following the recent statement released by the Southern governors that the presidency should be zoned to the South, former Zamfara State governor, Ahmad Sani Yerima has rejected the position of the Southern governors, declared his support to contest in the 2023 presidential election.

Yerima while speaking on Tuesday stated that the statement released by the Southern governors doesn't move him an inch.

He said the Nigerian constitution doesn't recognize rotation of power, he added that any qualified citizen has the right to contest or participate in Nigerian politics.

The ex-governor made Nigerians understand that what the Southern governors said won't stop him from contesting in the 2023 presidential election.

Buhari tells army to change strategies

Again, President Muhammadu Buhari has warned the Nigerian army over the spate of insecurity in Nigeria. This time, the president advised them to adopt new strategies.

President Buhari has told the Nigerian army to explore new strategies to tackle the issue of insurgencies and other security threats in the country.

The president revealed that business owners have resumed their daily activities in some communities which were previously hijacked in Borno.

The Nigerian president added that the Nigerian army needs to be commended for restoring peace in Borno communities.
