Issues relating to the second jab of Covid-19 vaccines, galamsey and national security are the dominant issues headlining discussions in the country. Today, Thursday, May 20, 2021, Kwadwo Twum Boafo, former CEO of the Free Zones Board and Dr. Okoe Boye, former Deputy Health minister and former MP for Ledzokuku joined Randy Abbey on ‘Good Morning Ghana’ to discuss the above issues.
According to Kwadwo Twum Boafo, he does not see anything good coming out of the new fight against galamsey. He was of the view that until some galamsey kingpins in the NPP are nabbed no one could trust the government to deliver results. He added that so much evidence had been placed before the president and yet nothing concrete has come out.
Randy Abbey, the host however felt changes are happening. “Take it or leave, the new Lands and Natural Resources Minister is doing something right” Randy Abbey said. Randy called on the government to keep working hard to eradicate our lands from illegal mining. He applauded Samuel Abu Jinapor for the hard work he has put into the fight against galamsey and called for more.
Okoe Boye also insisted that the government has done so much to halt galamsey. He noted that though the fight was not over, it was impossible to allege that nothing will come out of the fight.
