This is so UNBELIEVABLE. Imagine what the Federal Government said about ASUU strike.

Will there ever be a time when our higher education won't be interrupted?

For months now, students of different universities across the country (mainly those under ASUU) have been at home because of the prolonged ASUU strike. Obviously, this strike began even before the outbreak of Corona virus pandemic. Our brothers and sisters have been left idle at home. The Federal government on her part seem too slow in granting the demands of ASUU.

On their part, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) said it would end the strike when the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) has passed the Intergrity test of the Federal Government. However, ASUU president Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi noted that the passage is becoming delayed. He further revealed that they want the UTAS to replace the debatable Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) of the Federal government.

Responding to this, the Federal Government through the spokesman of the Ministry of Education, Ben Goong said that what ASUU is insisting on is quite ridiculous. For him, lecturers cannot determine how they should be paid by their employers which is the Federal Government.
