Emma Hayes praises Berger outstanding performance in goal as Chelsea ladies take a 2-1 lead

Emma Hayes led chelsea ladies yesterday defeated Wolfsburg ladies in the quarter finals of the UEFA champions league first leg. Wolfsburg ladies were dominant all through the first half, creating great number of scoring opportunities. But for the goalkeeper whose heroic and brilliant display against the German giant prevented them from scoring more.

Chelsea opened the scoring through Sam Kerr after wonderful build up by Ji, who found Fran Kirby on the edge of the box before she played Sam Kerr through on goal, who then rounded the goalkeeper to score an emphatic goal. Chelsea other goal was scored by Pernille Harder who scored against her former team for the first time since she left the German side.

After the game Emma Hayes showered praises on Chelsea goalkeeper, Ann-katrin Berger who was the reason the scorelines stayed 2-1. Emma Hayes described Berger as the best goalkeeper in the world of female football.

The will go into the second leg with a 2-1 advantage over last year finalist.
