With the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party primaries imminent in the next few hours, the race for Belgut Parliamentary seat is expected to be a juicy clash.
In Belgut, Kericho West, a host of aspirants have shown interest in replacing the incumbent Member of Parliament Hon. Nelson Koech. However, that could prove a difficult task to undertake.
According to Mizani Africa, Nelson Koech, Deputy President William Ruto's close ally, leads Belgut's popularity ranking ahead of the upcoming United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party nominations.
Nelson Koech alias 'Sonko' enjoys a whooping rate of popularity estimated at 45.4%, edging out all other interested candidates in the quest. Elsewhere, Engineer Josephat Kiplang'at comes as the first runner-up with a popularity rate of 29.1%.
Other hopefuls in race for the Legislative role include Hon. Kiptoo Salat at 19.1%, and Hon. Brian Kiprotich Lang'at at 3.3%. With Belgut Constituency being regarded as a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) zone, the scramble for the parliamentary role could well be over in the nominations.
