Tyrell Malacia

Erik Ten Hag is one coach that has a good eye for worthwhile players and that manifested a few years ago when he led a young Ajax squad to the semi finals of the Champions League. The same is expected at Manchester United and one player that has already caught the eye of the 46 year old is Tyrell Malacia who has been heavily linked with a move to French club Olympique Lyonnaise. Many thought that this transfer move was just a random transfer move so that Manchester United can remain relevant in the transfer market but the truth is that Ten Hag had been tracking the player long before he was touted for a position at Manchester United.

A touchline recording released today revealed that the Dutch tactician had earmaked the defender about a year ago when he was still at Ajax. During one particular match against Ajax, Malacia showed impressive quality that Ten Hag told his immediate assistant to not the player’s name down since he would come back for him later in his tenure at the club.

Frenkie De Jong

Manchester United may have agreed with Barcelona on the transfer fee but convincing De Jong to join them is definitely going to be an uphill talks that is going to take weeks to get through. The Dutchman is hell-bent on staying at Barcelona and currently feels betrayed since Xavi has done little to block the transfer from happening. The 25 year old has asked to be unbothered as he comes to terms with joining another club next season, especially at a time when he felt that he could help Barcelona reach its peak next season.

Erik Ten Hag has been pushing for the transfer deal since day one and a lot of time has been spent on signing the midfielder that other targets have been ignored, much to Cristiano Ronaldo’s annoyance. If De Jong turns down Manchester United’s contract offer, there is a big chance that the deal will collapse beyond salvation.
