Manchester United will face Serie A side Atalanta in the return fixture of the UEFA Champions League group stage match. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have been under immense pressure to deliver wins this month and it has been reported that anything less than that would put the manager in a tedious position.
The English club faced Atalanta for the first time in their history and delivered a comeback victory with goals from Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo. Today, they face Gian Piero Gasperini's side once again.
Manchester United team news
Edison Cavani and Victor Lindelof have not been seen travelling with the squad to Italy and it is now almost certain that both players will not feature in the game.
There is also doubt that Anthony Martial will also feature in the squad. Solskjaer will most likely line-up with two strikers as Marcus Rashford is set to start the game.
The Reds got a comprehensive win in their last match against Tottenham Hotspur in the League with goals from Rashford, Ronaldo and Cavani. They go into the game with some much needed morale boost.
Atalanta has been a club riddled with injury concerns but they have managed to keep their most important players fit. Matteo Pessina, Hans Hateboer, Robin Gosens, Rafeal Toloi, and Berat Djimsiti have all been ruled out of the game due to fitness issues.
Although they have not lost any game since their defeat at Old Trafford, they have only won one. They are a team that is currently low on confidence as only a late winner from Marten De Roon was what stopped them from losing to Maurizio Sarri's Lazio team in their last outing.
United are currently 6 points in the group standing, 2 points behind Atalanta and Villarreal. A victory tonight would all but seal their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
