South African minister in charge of education, Angie Motshekga has revealed that they have submitted their education framework for schools' resumption to NCCC, but did not receive greenlight.
The statement disclosed that a better clarification on how schools will reopen will be made available in two weeks time to all South Africans. Minister Angie stated that the basis for her to say when school will reopen will be subject to the approval of the NCCC.
She equally revealed that her department has set plans to reopen school by 18th May, and a detailed plan on how to go about it will be presented.
It could be recalled that the department made a presentation to the committee last week Wednesday, that they had the intention of reopening schools on 6th May being today, but starting with grades 7 and 12.
This was later cut short after the minister's meeting with the social cluster of ministers on Tuesday who challenged the possibility of making it a reality.
While concluding her address, Mhaule revealed that ; "On the 18th of may our children are going to schools".
