The Minister of Roads and Highway, Honorable Kwesi Amoako-Atta has said that the Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo led government is a balanced government and that it does not discriminate when it comes to development projects.
According to him, all the policies of the government are geared towards developing all the sixteen (16) administrative regions and that this government does not discriminate (i.e. develope some and leave others unattended to).
Speaking on Joy News on Sunday evening, the Minister of Roads and Highway mentioned that the government has decided to construct a total of 6000km of roads, 200 bridges and 20 interchanges throughout the country before the year 2024.
Hon. Amoako-Atta further clarified that this agenda is accordance with the fact that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo had declared 2021 as the year of roads. He also noted that the above policies is spread throughout the 16 regions of Ghana and none is to be left out.
"We are going to construct 6000km of roads, 200 bridges and 20 interchanges in all the 16 regions of the country. This is how fair and balanced Akuffo-Addo's government is and does not leave anybody out of the circle."
In his state of the nation's address in February last year and this year 2021, the President Nana Akuffo-Addo declared these two years as the year of roads. This is to ensure that deprived roads are rehabilitated, tarred and new ones constructed.
It can be strongly argued that the agenda couldn't thrive in 2020 because of the outbreak of the novel covid-19 pandemic worldwide, and that hampered development projects.
