Why We Are Against Payment Of Ransom To Bandits - ACF

The apex northern socio-cultural body, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has revealed why it is against the payment of ransom to bandits to secure the release of abducted persons.

In a statement released by its National Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Yawe, in Kaduna on Saturday, the ACF said the government can negotiate with bandits but not pay ransom.

Reacting to the release of students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna state, on Friday, the forum thanked Nigerians who risked their lives in the negotiating process to free those held hostages by bandits.

Jema's Secretary, Wife Murdered In Kaduna

The Kaduna government has announced the murder of three persons in Jema’a in a Saturday night attack by gunmen.

Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner for Internal Security, in a statement on Sunday said the Police Command and the Defence Headquarters outfit Operation Safe Haven reported the killing.

The assailants stormed the home of Sgt. Christopher Madaki (Rtd), a scribe to the Ward Head at Golkofa, Jema’a LGA, shot him, his wife and his son’s wife.

The planter of Christ Apostolic Church, Prophet Sam Olu Alo, has commiserated with the Family of Pastor and Mrs. Enoch Adejare and Funmilayo Adeboye as well as the entire church of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), on the passing of their son, Pastor Dare Adeboye who died in his sleep on May 5, 2021.

While urging the Adeboyes and the RCCG family to repose their confidence in the Lord and be comforted in Him and His abundant mercy, Prophet Alo said only the Almighty who is the author of destinies has designed what He deems fit for everyone.

Another Popular Church Catches Fire In Lagos

A branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) located around the Total Alapere area of Lagos State has caught fire.

According to a video of the incident seen on the internet by Naija News correspondent, there are many cars in the compound even as the church building continues to burn, sending huge smokes into the air.

As of the time of filing this report, the real cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.
