Kaizer Chiefs are apparently close to re-signing one of their players, who was placed on the transfer list at the start of the current season.
The contract of Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya with Amakhosi expires at the end of the 2021/22 season. Former Zesco United striker Lazarus Kambole was also on the transfer list for the left-back. The two players, however, were not pursued by any team, and they remained with the club.
Following the club's preferred left-back Sfiso Hlanti suffering a long-term injury and being projected to miss the majority of the season, Ntiya-Ntiya has made a spectacular comeback. This was handed to the defender in order for him to impress Stuart Baxter, the coach.
While Kambole's situation has not improved, things are looking up for the 25-year-old who has appeared in four DSTV Premiership matches. However, three of these occurred in the last three games.
According to a source close to the club, he has performed admirably since suffering a long-term injury, and they believe he should be rewarded with a new contract, thus his contract will be renewed.
