The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt has bemoaned why the government of Ghana always has to borrow money to buy cocoa produced by our farmers.
Kwesi Pratt expressed his displeasure about this issue on 'Good Morning Ghana' on Metro TV when he gave his opinion on the effects of the production and exportation of cocoa produced in China on Ghana's economy.
According to him, he cannot understand why every year and for the last thirty years or more, we have to go and borrow money from foreign entities to buy cocoa from farmers.
He questioned why as a sovereign country, Ghana has not been able to purchase cocoa without any foreign assistance.
He added that he received calls from a person in the cocoa industry that they've not been paid from last season, and if we keep going on this tangent, why wouldn't the Chinese overtake us.
