Accra Hearts of Oak have an opportunity to turn their season around as they come up against Algerian club JS Saoura at the Accra Sports Stadium tomorrow. The CAF Confederation Cup fixture is anticipated to be keenly contested as the two sides aspire to advance into the group stage of the competition.

Home side Accra Hearts of Oak have had to participate in Confederation Cup play-off after losing to WAC of Morocco after two legged matches. The rainbow club was confident of seeing off the North African club to make the list for CAF Champions League group stage participants, but that was dealt a big blow after scoring three goals and conceding six.

Post that misery, Accra Hearts of Oak have had a stuttering start to life in the domestic campaign. As defending champions, coach Samuel Boadu and his lads were tipped to mount a formidable challenge towards title defence but that appears to be off the radar, after going four matches winless.

The Phobians - after paying a courtesy visit to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo this week - could make amends in the Confederation Cup play-off. Having been pledged One Million Cedis by the President of the Republic of Ghana, that should be a morale booster to spur them to convincing win tomorrow.

On the team’s shape in the game, Samuel Boadu may opt for regular players to spark the his side going, as they will aim to get goals as soon as the game is kicked off. They will launch attack on the opponent with quick game as they look to dominate midfield and any other area on the pitch. For the purposes of getting goals, Accra Hearts of Oak will open up play but that must be accompanied with a strategic way of keeping balls out of the control of JS Saoura. Forwards cannot afford to lavish glaring chances in pursuit of victory in the game.

Algerian team JS Saoura arrive in Ghana with a complete ambition of earning respectable score by avoiding goals as much as they can. Knowing that goals guarantee a progress to the group stage after home and away games, the visitors will deny balls from moving beyond their back line. Sitting deep while keeping an eye on quick counter break will be the order of day. They stand to benefit profusely if they jet out of Ghana with a clean sheet, and will work to the brim to ensure it comes into fruition.
