The former Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has spoken about the President Muhammadu Buhari Order to create 368 grazing sites in 25 states out of the 36 we have in Nigeria.

During his speech, according to The Cable, he kicked against the idea and advised President Muhammadu Buhari not to impose the order on uninterested people.

Let's recall that many southern groups, such as Afenifere and Ohanaeze, first kicked against this order with the claim that President Buhari was trying to turn their land into an Emirate.

However, during the speech, Aminu Tambuwal mentioned these 2 statements that President Buhari needs to note.

Open grazing is not healthy for the Fulani herdsmen, cows, and the community that they are passing through.

Tambuwal made it known that building ranches would have been a better option for President Muhammad than creating grazing sites.

It is not a must for herdsmen to pass through the bush for days with their cows before they can rear the cows.

Following cows from one place to another in search of food and water is not healthy for both the cows and the herdsmen. Trekking will surely create weakness for cows.

Not only that, the population of Nigeria is bigger than in the 90s. Open grazing is no longer convenient because people have built houses in the places that used to be bush.

Many cows will poo on the floor, which is very dangerous and it can also cause disease to people.

Government only supports states where the people there are interested in such practice and understand it.

Tambuwal Make it known that the Federal Government shouldn't force any state that is not interested in grazing sites because the practice is thoroughly not their way of life.

The government should only support people that know more about grazing and want it in their state.

Why will a herdsman from Sokoto be pursing his cow in Delta state? We all know that many of these people are not into the cow business and we shouldn't force them to allow grazing sites.
