Tshegofatso Mabasa who signed for Orlando Pirates in 2019, were set to see his three-year deal expire with the club in June, but has now added on two more years at the club, as Pirates decided to exercise his two-year option in his contract.
A source in the know has brought the new deal to light as he revealed the details to the media. “Orlando Pirates have exercised their option on the contract of striker Tshegofatso Mabasa keeping the burly marksman at the club beyond the current season", the source confided.
Tshegofatso Mabasa was only supposed to be at the club until June 2022, but his option which was exercised by the club will keep him until June 2024 now. The striker who joined the club from Bloemfontein Celtic has been a key player in Pirates attack and still has a lot to offer the club going forward.
“Tshegofatso Mabasa is going nowhere as Pirates have taken their option on his contract", the source further revealed.
Orlando Pirates has big plans for Mabasa in their future plans as the new deal confirms it all. Orlando Pirates co-coach Fadlu Davids last boasted about Mabasa being a good player who always has a goal in him, which indicates that the management is satisfied with his services.
