Opinion; President Kenyatta is Working to See William Ruto Succeeds Him in 2022

Latest reports that President Uhuru Kenyatta is working on a larger scheme that will culminate in Gideon Moi becoming Raila Odinga's running mate, begs the question if the President is working to see his deputy succeed him in 2022?

It's public knowledge that ODM leader Raila Odinga is not very popular in Mt Kenya region. If latest reports are to go by, the president's move to back Raila for the top seat will result into a political backlash in his region.

Could it be that President Kenyatta is deliberately backing ODM leader Raila Odinga for the top seat, a move that will trigger political backlash in Mt Kenya, hence the region votes for Ruto overwhelmingly.

Honestly speaking, the Jubilee government has not performed spectacularly in terms development. Hence if Uhuru publicly backs Ruto for the top seat, Ruto will loose because he has nothing to ride on.

The president maybe aware that if he backs Raila in 2022, his DP will use the victim card, then exploit the backlash in Mt Kenya and ascend to power and finally fulfil his promise of "Yangu kumi na Ruto kumi."
