Former Pirates player sings praises as the club makes coaching decision

Date: 01/12/2021

Orlando Pirates has been without a head coach ever since Josef Zinnbauer departed ways with the club, but that has not put the club in a bad space as co-coaches Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids has been really good at doing great job in managing the players who are of superb quality. Orlando Pirates arguably has some of the best players in the PSL at the moment, and with these players they can go far and even compete for titles.

Orlando Pirates unfortunately after they won the MTN8 title last season and earned another spot in the CAF Confederations Cup, couldn't collect another title since. Under co-coach management, the club has a current three-match unbeaten run with 2 wins and 1 draw scoring 5 goals without conceding any goals, which means that the co-coach bromance are working well for the club.

Although the co-coaches are doing a great job, the club has been reportedly linked with former Al Ahly assistant coach Cavin Johnson and Gavin Hunt, the club has decided not to make any technical changes as the co-coaches are doing well and the club wants to see where this will lead to. Former Orlando Pirates midfielder, Hleza Mofedi shared his joy because the club decided not to appoint a head coach for now giving the co-coaches more chances.

"For me, the two coaches Mandla and Fadlu are doing very well, and I am happy with their progress. I have been watching them trying different combinations for the team to do well and the results of what they have been doing are there for everyone to see. Yes, their starting eleven has been changing quite a lot but that's because they have been working on finding the right combinations. The way I see it, they have found their winning combination and all that is needed from the team is consistency", Mofedi pointed out.

"I am happy that the club has decided to give the two coaches a chance to work longer with the team. What I have noticed is that there is more unity in the team and the team spirit is on a high under the two coaches. The players seem to be playing for each other and they seem to be eager to work for the two coaches. What I like about Pirates management is that they always give coaches a chance to prove their worth. They are very supportive to the coaches, and I like that a lot about the club", Mofedi remarked on.

Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids are doing a great job, so no need for a head coach yet, as the club would have to make a rush adjustment, should they make changes in coaching.
