Arsenal football club are hellbent on bringing back their glory days under the management of Mikel Arteta.
And to do that, the North London club are very much aware of their need to compete with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea this season and have splashed the cash to sign some players including Aaron Ramsdale and Ben White during the summer transfer window.
However, even with those signings the Gunners have started the 2021/2022 season on a disappointing note and are currently sitting in 11th position on the Premier League table heading into the international break.
And coupled with that, Arsenal could now be rocked with reports that experienced goalkeeper Bernd Leno is interested in leaving the club when the transfer window opens.
The 29-year-old Germany International, who joined Arsenal after leaving Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in 2016 has been an important member of the first-team squad over the previous seasons.
However, the arrival of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United in the summer has limited his playing opportunities so far this season.
Bernd Leno has been restricted to a disappointing 4 appearances in all competitions this season and according to reports from The Sun, he is now willing to move away from the Emirates stadium when the transfer window opens in January.
The reports further claimed that the shot-stopper is furious having lost his No1 spot to Aaron Ramsdale and he is now contemplating a transfer move away.
However, it remains to be seen if Arsenal will be interested in offloading Bernd Leno next year as they view him as a worthy competitor to Aaron Ramsdale in that goalkeeping department.
