A year ago, Migori governor Okoth Obado was seized over the 73.4 million corruption. He was later released on 8.75 million cash bail.
In a ruling today by the High Court Judges James Wakiaga, the governor has been stopped from accessing his county office till the case is concluded. He has also received another huge setback after he was barred from selling his lavish vehicles, leasing or developing the Loresho Ridge House.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission(EACC) indicated that it has information that people close to the governor registered numerous companies in a bid to get contracts from the county government of Migori.
According to Citizen TV Obado is accused of using Ksh. 38.9 million to pay fees and upkeep for his three children. He also used the other amount of money in purchasing a posh luxurious V8 land cruisers.
In my view EACC should intensify its fight against corruption in our country. If Obado was actually involved in graft, then he should face the full force of the law.
