The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has stated that the nation's economy had virtually collapsed when President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office in 2015.
Lai Mohammed made this claim while listing the three major things that happened in Nigeria when the current administration started.
The Minister said this on Friday when he received a delegation from the African Union Development Agency-New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD), which is in the country for the second peer review.
He therefore, stated that the kind of challenges faced will determine the approach in solving them.
Other things he said happened is that Boko Haram had occupied the North East while the production of oil declined from about 2.1 million barrels per day to about half a million barrels a day.
When President Muhammadu Buhari came to power in 2015, after defeating former President Goodluck Jonathan, his major agenda was to fight corruption and end insecurity in the North East.
