According to the reports NTSA has directed more than 500 driving schools to apply afresh for their operation licenses.Besides the new operating licences will only be issued to those who comply with a list of new rules.
Nearly hundred of driving school will risk closure following the National Transport and Safety Authority decision to issue fresh licences as the move is aimed at weeding out rogue operators.
These new rules require NTSA to send officials to inspect each driving school in order to ensure that all institutions meet infrastructure and staff requirements before issuing fresh licences and driving schools are required to have a minimum of two driving instructors which must submit annual reports.
Before the issuing of license driving schools are required to have waiting areas,management offices and theory classrooms with a town model board and a capacity to hold at least four students that have to be seated at least one square metre apart as well as washrooms and road sign posters approved by the NTSA.
Besides driving tutors must have attained an equivalent of at least a D minus in their secondary school education and have a certificate in computer studies or a similar qualification.
