The race to succeed outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta is continuing to gain momentum as campaigns gear up across the country.
Various presidential candidates cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to run for the top seat are keen on mobilizing Kenyans to rally behind their bids.
Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga is keen on capturing the top seat as he will be making a fifth stab at the presidency in the August 9th general election.
Raila has sent a fresh message to IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati stating that there will be no elections as scheduled on August 9th if there will be no manual voter register.
He has claimed that if therevwill be a manual register, it'll be easy to tell how many people have voted in every polling station unlike when an electronic register is used as proposed by DP Ruto's camp.
"We are telling the IEBC they must have a manual register along with the biometric identification of voters on election day, failure to which there will be no election..... With a manual register, it'll be easy to tell how many people have voted in every polling station. In the electronic register, no record remains," Raila said.
Raila's Azimio camp has alleged a plot to rig the August 9th polls in favour of his main rival in the race to State House, Deputy President William Ruto.
