Manchester City defeated Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge as Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea suffered their first defeat of the 2021/2022 season. Chelsea had one of theor worst performance of the 2021/2022 season in the last weekend's loss to Manchester City as the blues were clearly outplayed by Pep Guardiola's men.

Chelsea may be the reigning European Champions but their performance against Man City looked more like a struggling team and questionable. Thomas Tuchel may have beaten Pep Guardiola thrice since he came to England but Pep Guardiola finally took revenge on him in a humiliating way.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City made the Chelsea team looked so average and even former Chelsea legend, Joe Cole had to confess that he has never seen Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea play so bad since January.

Last night, Chelsea lost to Juventus despite having a greater percentage of the ball possession. Chiesa's 46th-minute goal condemned Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea to back-to-back defeats in a row as pressure piles on the blues.

Thomas Tuchel may have won Chelsea the Champions League and Super Cup but his tactics are sometimes flawed and questionable.

Thomas Tuchel's tactics have been bringing results for Chelsea but the style of play is questionable and Manchester City and Juventus match exposed the German negative and unattractive tactics.

Here is the main reason why Chelsea may sack Thomas Tuchel and replace him with an attacking-minded coach.

1. Thomas Tuchel plays defensive football:

Gone are the days teams park the bus and hope to score the opposition on the counter-attack. Thomas Tuchel plays a 3-4-3 or a 3-5-2 formation where 7 or 8 defensive-minded players are deployed on the pitch to stop the opponent from scoring. Thomas Tuchel's tactics are defensive as Chelsea indirectly defend all through 90 minutes while hitting the opponent on the counter-attack.

The formation backfired last weekend as Manchester City made Chelsea looked like an average team as the blues struggled to control the game.

2. Poor Attacking input:

To prove Chelsea is a very defensive team under Thomas Tuchel, the blues are now struggling to create goal-scoring chances. Due to Thomas Tuchel's preference for defensive players like Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic, Chelsea is now struggling to create chances as can be witnessed in their matches against Manchester City and Juventus.

Chelsea has gone two consecutive games registering only one shot on target for the first time in their history. Romelu Lukaku has been starved of goal-scoring chances as no player is creating the chances for the Belgian striker.

Thomas Tuchel has done well for Chelsea and will always be regarded as the club legend but it is time Chelsea find a replacement and sign a manager that can move the team forward.
