Today's strike against Watford was Mane's 79th goal for Liverpool in the Premier League, while the other 21 came during his time at Southampton. The 29 years old Senegalese winger is the third African player to reach the 100 goal landmark in the history of the Premier League.
The other two African players to score 100 or more Premier League goals are Didier Drogba and Mohamed Salah. Drogba scored 104 Premier League goals for Chelsea, while Salah is currently on 104 league goals after scoring for Liverpool in today's game against Watford.

While Sadio Mane took his time before scoring his 100th Premier League goal, his record looks more outstanding if you check the underlying stats.
The Senegalese winger did not score a single penalty or free-kick before reaching the 100th goal landmark, according to information on the Premier League official website. All his Premier League goals came from open play.
For comparison sake, Didier Drogba scored 4 penalties during his time in the Premier League, while Mohamed Salah has scored a total of 14 league penalties for Liverpool so far.
Reaching the 100th goal landmark without scoring a single penalty is something we don't get to see often. Sadio Mane, therefore, deserves a lot of praise for this incredible achievement.
