The teachers service commission provides a score sheet that panelists base on when interviewing candidates. The commission has been releasing the score sheet every time an interview has been scheduled. The scoring guidelines have been distributed according to the year of graduation, the certificate attained either in college or the university and the length of stay since graduation.
Academic qualification (Part A)
According to the BED scoresheet, first class honors is awarded 35 marks, second class upper division- 30 marks, second class lower- 25 marks and pass-20 marks.
Those who have done a BA or BSC degree with PGDE are awarded as follows:
First class-35 marks, second class-30 marks, second class lower-25 marks, and pass-20 marks.
The commission further awards 10 marks if an interviewer provides an evidence of internship.
Length of stay (Part C)
2014 and below -50 marks
2015- 45 marks
2016- 40 marks
2017- 35 marks
2018- 30 marks
2019 and other- 25 marks
The commission has clearly stated that this is an area no candidate should score a zero mark. Communication skills and presentation gives a total of two marks. Evidence of participation in co-curricula activities, students exam records for the past three years, and special talents gives a total of three marks.
