The President of South Africa Mr Cyril Ramaphosa reportedly made a call to South Africa amid the high infection rates being experienced in the country .
He called on the people not to panic even though the transmissions were high . He said that the hospitalization remained stable. The President made the remarks while he was at the Jubilee House in Accra on Saturday where there was a start of high-level talks between Ghana and South Africa .
The leader of Ghana and South Africa lambasted the travel bans that were imposed on African countries following the emergence of the new Covid-19 variant .
However , Mr Ramaphosa informed that he had spoken to the health minister regarding the new variant and was informed that the hospital admission rates were not alarming .
As a result of this development , he called for calm and highlighted that there was only a need to increase the rate of vaccination .
