The second jab of the AstraZeneca vaccine began yesterday. The second dosage delayed a bit because of acquisition of vaccines. So far the process has been smooth with only few complaints of people being asked to return later for the jab. It was a lively discussion on ‘GHToday’ between Serwaa Amihere and Dennis Miracle Aboagye, a former MCE for Akuapem North, regarding the ongoing second jab of the vaccines.
According to Serwaa, education on the vaccine is very low and there were areas who have not even heard or believe that Covid-19 is real. She noted that education on the vaccine might not even be up to 70%. Dennis Aboagye wasn’t impressed with that and maintained that the responsibility was not only on government but also on the citizens to do what everyone is doing.
Serwaa insisted that the government needed to do more education and help. “No we can’t help you” Dennis Aboagye said. Serwaa interjected and said that Felix couldn’t just say that they can’t help. “You cannot say that. It is the duty of government. Some citizens have expressed fear and it is up to the government to keep educating”
Mr. Aboagye went on to insist that everyone in Ghana had heard of Covid-19 and the vaccine and thus choosing not to believe was the person’s own mistake and government couldn’t be held responsible. “Everybody knows that there is a vaccine. Everyone has heard about Covid-19. It will be strange for anyone alive on this earth to tell you, myself and lawyer Amaliba that they have not heard about Covid-19” Mr. Aboagye maintained.
