2 Times Special Tactical Command Proved To Be Effective In Fighting Violent Crimes

The Nigerian government has intensified efforts to curb the rising cases of insecurity across the country. This prompted the security forces to formulate a special tactical command that will tackle cases of violent attacks from bandits, terrorists and other agitators. The formation of this special tactical command has proved to be more effective multiple times. The command comprises professional personnel from various security agencies in the country such as police, military and paramilitary. Below are the two times it has worked in reducing the menace of criminal elements causing unrest, anxiety and tension across the six geo-political zones of the country.


1. Formation Of Special Tactical Command Against Violent Members Of The Proscribed Eastern Security Network (ESN)

When the violent activities of the proscribed organisation known as the Eastern Security Network (ESN) became intolerable and generated mixed reactions across social media platforms, the Nigerian security forces formulated a special tactical command that will restore peace and unity in the southeastern region of the country. The Joint Task Force recorded significant success in the war against the violent secessionist group. Several commanders including the infamous Onye Army, Dragon and their accomplices were apprehended by the security forces.

Training camps used by the proscribed organisation were uncovered and destroyed. The operation also neutralised several logistic suppliers of the organisation. The proscribed group were allegedly carrying out multiple attacks on security formations and government facilities in the southeastern region of the country.


2. Formation Of Special Tactical Command Against Bandits In The Northwestern Region Of The Country

A special tactical command is also conducting multiple operations in the northwestern region of the country particularly in Zamfara state where banditry has become a major security challenge. The Nigerian Army and other tactical security agencies are recording significant success against the bandits after the telecommunication network was disabled in the entire state.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk has personally paid a working visit to the state in order to ascertain the level of success being recorded. This is contained in a statement posted on the verified Facebook page of the Nigerian Army. This shows that Nigeria is winning the war against violent crimes.
